IAM Error Messages

Provided for review are suggestions for resolving errors you might be having with Investment Account Manager. If you continue to have the error after following the suggested solutions, or the numeric message you received is not listed, please send the error log that has been created to our technical support department. Here's how:
Error 1
FRMHOMEPAGE.NW_CALCPERFORMANCE
This error is caused by trying to run the portfolio performance report (clicking refresh) when the home page has no active portfolio to open after you had deleted all portfolios provided. Once you create new portfolios, you should not have this problem.

Error 4
FRMRKPKSALE.OPGMETHOD.INTERACTIVECHANGE
This error indicates that a database index file is corrupt or missing. Open Investment Account Manager and select the Tools Menu | Rebuild Data choice. This should correct the error.

Error 5
FRMRKDETRN.SHELLREQUERYMAINVIEWALIAS
This error indicates that a database index file is corrupt or missing. Open Investment Account Manager and select the Tools Menu | Rebuild Data choice. This should correct the error.

Error 15
FRMRKUPDATE.CMDCHECK.CLICK
This error indicates that a file required for the 'Check for Updates' did not download properly. Open Investment Account Manager, select the Tools Menu | Rebuild Data choice, and then try the 'Check for Updates' function again. This should correct the error.

Error 52
This error indicates that a database index file is corrupt or missing. Open Investment Account Manager and select the Tools Menu | Rebuild Data choice. This should correct the error.

Error 214
CTRRKAPP.CLEANUPONAPPTERMINATE
This error is caused by a 'space' as the first character in one or more portfolio names tracked in Investment Account Manager. Select the file menu | portfolios, review portfolio names, and select to edit those portfolio(s) to remove any spaces that might be before the letters of this portfolio name. Repeat as necessary.

Error 1440/1405/1426
This error is normally caused if a necessary DLL file is not properly installed for the calendar / calculator feature of Investment Account Manager. Included with Investment Account Manager is a file that can be run to auto-register these files. See error help for register_ole_controls listed below.

Error 1429
FRMRPTSETUP.CMDUPDATE.CLICK
This error may also be caused if during the installation of Investment Account Manager, the file named CPEAUT32.DLL failed to register to your system. Included with Investment Account Manager is a file that can be run to auto-register these files. See error help for register_ole_controls listed below.

Error 1683
FRMRKDEMAS.SHELLADDITIONALINIT
This error indicates that a necessary database file is not found. You may have inadvertently deleted this file or it has become corrupted to the point Investment Account Manager can no longer read it. Try reinstalling Investment Account Manager. Re-installing will not affect your data. Then open the program and use the Tools Menu | Rebuild Data choice.

Error 1732
Data type is invalid for this property
Select the Tools Menu | Rebuild Data, and check the box labeled "reset all screens and grids to their default values"

Error 1733
Error 1733/Class definition CRYSTAL.CRPE.APPLICATION is not found
This error is normally caused by deleting or not registering properly necessary reporting files originally installed with Investment Account Manager. Included with Investment Account Manager is a file that can be run to auto-register these files. See error help for register_ole_controls listed below.

Error 1884
CALC_BEGAOD Uniqueness of index AOD_PK is violated.
This error indicates that a database index file is corrupt or missing. Open Investment Account Manager and select the Tools Menu | Rebuild Data choice. This should correct the error.

Error 1925
This error is normally caused if a necessary DLL file is not properly installed for the calendar feature of Investment Account Manager. Included with Investment Account Manager is a file that can be run to auto-register these files See error help for register_ole_controls listed below.

Error 2005
System Message: Error Loading File
This error indicates that a database form was unable to be opened properly by Investment Account Manager. Open Investment Account Manager and select the Tools Menu | Rebuild Data choice. This should correct the error.

Could Not Create Directory
This error is caused by Investment Account Manager not being able to start the necessary application to write to a CD. Investment Account Manager is unable to create a directory on the CD and then check to see that the directory exists. To write to a removable media, there are several choices. Use a zip drive, a floppy drive, a USB flash drive or write to a temporary directory on the hard drive and copy the directory to the CD using the third party application.

Error when Opening Advanced Home Page
If you receive an OLE error when opening the program, you should run the 'Register_OLE_controls' program that is in the same directory as the Investment Account Manager program. See error help for register_ole_controls listed below.

Failed DLL self-register during install

If you receive an error that these DLL files did not properly self-register when installing Investment Account Manager, it indicates your operating system may be using an older version of a necessary system file (named atl.dll). These files need to be properly registered in order to export Investment Account Manager reports and graphs in either Acrobat format (PDF) or Rich Text (Exact) format. Follow these steps to self-register:

If during the installation, you receive an error that this file did not properly self-register, please see error help for register_ole_controls listed below.

Fatal error: Exception codes
These are Windows Operating system errors, and are often caused by low memory resources, or other OS problems. A recommended solution is to run Microsoft's Defrag and/or Scandisk. This is a recommended process for your system to routinely clean up and repair errors on your hard disk. Then, if you have low memory resources, you should remove other applications that are running in the background while using Investment Account Manager. Remove them from your startup group, and/or turn them off before using the program. Next time in Investment Account Manager, also use the Tools Menu | Rebuild Data choice to clean any data corruptions.

File access is denied
File name: data\rkusrprf.dbf.
This error can occur if the user started two sessions of Investment Account Manager almost simultaneously, i.e., the user double clicked the Investment Account Manager icon more than twice to load.

Register_OLE_Controls
If you get an OLE error while running Investment Account Manager, it is likely due to not installing Investment Account Manager with administrator rights turned on (if using these controls), or if running Microsoft Vista or Windows 7 and not properly registering files. Included with Investment Account Manager is a small utility program that will re-register the necessary OLE control files:
  1. Exit Investment Account Manager
  2. Right-click on the start button and select 'Explore'.
  3. Navigate to your Investment Account Manager directory.
  4. Find the 'Register_OLE_Controls' program.
  5. Right-click on the program and choose 'Run as administrator'.
